Focusing

Focusing offers a natural and gentle avenue for reconnecting with information that is held in the body. Our bodies synthesise millions of bits of information that our conscious minds do not have access to. By directly paying attention to how our bodies feel we can harness this information in helpful ways. Focusing has applications in:

  • Stress reduction
  • Decision Making
  • Finding creative solutions to vexing problems
  • Personal and professional development
  • Enhancing the effectiveness of counselling, psychotherapy, coaching & meditation (or other spiritual practices)
  • Adding a greater sense of meaning to everyday life

Focusing sessions are typically 50 minutes long. During a session the Focusing Practitioner will guide you to invite your awareness into your body in order to access & learn from what your body knows about a specific problem or project.

Our workshop training is always designed to teach both Focusing and Listening skills so that you can eventually practice this helpful way of being with yourself and others outside of professional sessions. Workshop participants often go on to form thier own Focusing partnerships as a way of continuing to benefit from this helpful process. We want everyone who is interested to have access to the richness that comes from learning Focusing.

FocusBrighton works with highly trained Focusing Institute Trainers & Coordinators and offers courses in Brighton, London, and by request.
